Chamber Seeks Nominations for 2020 Pioneer Citizen Award
The Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2020 Pioneer Citizen Awards. The award will be presented during the Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet which is held in early 2020. The deadline for nominations is November 8, 2019.
Since 1984, the Pioneer Citizen award has been given to members of the Siloam Springs community who lead with their heart, who face new challenges, and pave the way for new frontiers.
Recipients must meet the following criteria: be a resident of Siloam Springs for at least 10 years, be 65 years old or older, and be heavily involved, past or present, in various activities or committees of the City of Siloam Springs, Main Street Siloam Springs, or the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce. The recipient’s activities have either enhanced the economic or cultural development of Siloam Springs, or promoted Siloam Springs on a state, national, or international level.
Previous winners of the Pioneer Citizen Award include Bob & Cathi Coleman, Raquel Beck, Hank Harrison, Shirley Dilbeck, Jerry Cavness, Judy Omo, Sid Townsend, Suellen Coleman Chase, and many other incredible people who have played a role in making Siloam Springs what it is today.
The Annual Banquet will be held in early 2020 where the Chamber of Commerce will award the Pioneer Citizens. This is also a time for the current board chair to pass the baton to the board chair elect. The Annual Banquet is an event with great food, fellowship, and fun. Once the 2020 Pioneer Citizens are announced, tickets will be available to purchase on the Chamber of Commerce website and at the Chamber of Commerce office.
